circa 1995 :// mercedes mendoza lived a simple life in the province of cebu, helping with running their family's farm. she wanted to focus herself in returning the favor to her parents for raising her as the brilliant woman that she is. until she met juanito sandro, the man who was able to sweep off her feet and melt the ice that has long inhabited within the remnants of her heart. being involved in romance weren't in her books, but for sandro? she's willing to give anything. things went smooth and she fell deeper into him, with no way of getting herself out of the sinkhole she got herself in. she swore to herself that sandro will be the first and last man she'll fall in love with, for he became everything to her. their romance eventually gave birth to a woman, they named elysia, and from there, they envisioned an image of a perfect family with their unica hija, or so she thought.circa 2000 :// time flied so fast and their first born's already growing along with them, but the image they have depicted in their minds were eventually shattered in the lens of mercedes - when she finally discovered the deceit that hides behind juanito's sweet, gentleman-like facade; a fact that she herself couldn't fathom - that she wasn't the only woman in his eyes. and that juanito sandro is not really juanito, but in fact a man named mikael lewis who hides in such alias. everything fell apart from there, but then how could she escape when she'd madly, crazy, and completely in love with him. she felt betrayed - that the promise of forever he swore he'll share with her is a shared vow between two women. what even saddens her is that in the picture of them three, she's the one depicted as a mistress - but did she have a clue when the man presented himself completely different from what he is?

circa 2002 :// things turned into a turmoil with all the revelations, especially with juanito coming out that his ties with celine was forced and out of the latter's obsession. despite knowing the possibility that such would be another lie, mercedes chose to believe him. (what can she do,she herself doesn't want to lose in this game). and when she thought she'll finally get her happy ending as juanito decides to cut the knot with celine, it costs them another tragedy. with celine unable to accept the fact that juanito's breaking free from her, she deided to end her life. next thing that shattered mercedes was the fact that celine and juanito also had a girl.and there came selena.circa 2003 :// juanito, now fully embodying himself in his real identity as mikael with the death of celine, this marked as a new start for him and mercedes. whilst selena would remind mercedes of celine, she didn't have a choice but to welcome her in the family picture. ever since, selena never received any form of affection from mercedes, even though she tried her best to get her approval. the new boy, hugh owen, got even more attention than she does, especially from mikael. behind the portrait of a happy family hides a story of an neglected child, all screaming for validation, and to be accepted and looved, just like elysia and owen.circa 2012 :// just when everyone thought that the mendoza-lewis family had finally reached the level of peace and stability that many other families would grew envious of came another nighmare, especially for mercedes. mikael isn't really a man of honor after all, as he couldn't keep his hands for himself and still see other women. him being a notorious cheater was another big revelation and heartbreak for mercedes - and from there, things have worsened, even more chaotic than what happened in 2002 (ironically, just ten decades after).

circa 2012 (cont.) :// mercedes wanted to dissolve and disappear after feeling betrayed for the second time. just as people predicted that the world's ending by this date, but then for her, it felt like the world's completely gone. she endured sleepless nights consumed by anxiety and insecurity- always asking herself, wasn't i enough? these had her completely in array, which led to nights where endless arguments were served in the table, and eventually into an exchange of fists, which left not only a scar in her heart, but also to her, physically.
selena, during that time, wanted to comfort her mother, and so when she witnessed with her own eyes her father's infidelity, she made herself a witness, thinking that if she sided with her mother, mercedes, she would finally see her worth. but such act infuriated mikael, which ended up to selena being assaulted. wanting to defend herself had her seeing blood in her own hands then witnessing her father losing his life right before her eyes. it was unintentional, she just wanted to protect herself.
elysia was then a witness of the horrid night, seeing her little sister completely in fright and drowned in tears. selena didn't want to be considered as a sinner, so someone has to be their scapegoat. luckily, with their influence, someone had to pay for her sins.
if things were tough for mercedes, the pain was much heavier for selena, a poor child who just wanted nothing but to be cherished with love. and so when she wanted to ended her own life just like celine, elysia was there to comfort her, prevent her from doing such acts.
and so she was asked to run away, grabbing a few funds from her dead father's pockets, telling her to start a new life. maybe love for her wasn't meant to be found within the four corners of her so-called home, not even in mercedes.
and that night concluded the chapter for selena, and a brand new start for her new persona..

circa 2014 :// after running away from home, she was proclaimed dead, and not even mercedes gave a damn about losing her. while mercedes moved on with elysia and hugh back to cebu, selena was adopted by a family who was yearning for a child. through her foster mother, adaline lee, was the first she felt real love after being deprived for ages. perhaps, she could now fit herself in an image of a happy family, just what a young child always wished to have. and so this gave birth to her being as guin adelle lee, the princess of the lee household.

circa 2020 :// with therapy received through her foster parents, selena, er guin, or now known as gigi, has grown to a fine young woman, completely moving on from the dark past she had. (although it would still haunt her from time to time, but she has learned to muster it). now as a young adult, comes the pressure of being the next face of the lee's, as the heiress they want her to be. despite enjoying the treatment that she has right now, the woman inside her yearned of something more simple, instead of bearing the weight of the crown they want her to carry. her own interests led her to conflicts with the household, especially her dad, and then she was given a choice to prove herself, which was a challenge she gladly take. she could be the same guin adelle lee that everyone will look up to by her own efforts, without the family's influence, and so her decision to finally be an independent woman. luckily, she was able to have some funds with the help of her mom and the money she embezzled before from her dad that made her buy her own property in makati.

circa 2021 - present :// having to be independent whilst experiencing the heaviness of lockdowns caused by the coronavirus was indeed a tough chapter for gigi. at times, she wanted to take back her words and just went along to being their family's tycoon, but then again, this was the decision she made for herself. this is how gigi ended up doing online activities. when netizens noted that she can do content for an adult streaming site, gigi had to resort to doing such, just to make a living of her own. brands also soon discovered her, which marked the start of her modelling career as well. with the funds that she raised for herself, she was able to finally afford pursuing her studies in marketing, while still doing her sidelines. albeit a tough ride, gigi's able to finally make a name for herself, and she's about to do more not only for herself, but to pay back adaline for all the love and attention she had poured to her.but then, she reconciles with her late sister, elysia when she recognized her in one of the ads, since she also worked for the media.
